Quinoa is a superfood, ideal for its fibre, minerals and vitamins, complex carbohydrates (satiating), vegetable proteins and polyunsaturated fats (beneficial). It is a great option for people with coeliac disease, vegans and/or athletes.
How to prepare: Rinse before cooking. Pour the desired amount into the pot when the water is boiling and let it cook for about 15 minutes. Afterwards, strain the quinoa to remove the excess water.
It is a healthy food that can be eaten hot or cold, making it ideal at any time of the year. It is also very versatile. Here are some quick ideas on how to use it:
- In tomato and lettuce salads with tuna and mayonnaise or cucumber and feta cheese.
